- Biographical or historical data
- Duryea Morton was born in Bronxville, N.Y. on June 13, 1924 and elisted in the Army on September 1, 1943 at Allentown, Pa. At the time of enlistment he was umarried, and had completed four years of high school. Morton joined the 10th Mountain Division at Camp Hale, Colo. and was assigned to Company L of the 90th Infantry Regiment, but later served with Company E of the 85th Infantry Regiment. He was also stationed at Camp Swift, Tex. During combat operations in Italy, Morton was wounded in action.
