- The interview provides information and personal observations about Banett's experiences: being a squad leader of 30 men whose role was to support the line companies; enlistment at Camp McCoy, Wisc. and basic training at Camp Hale, Colo.; transition from Camp Hale to Camp Swift, Tex.; sailing from Camp Patrick Henry to Italy and being on KP duty; mission to support the line troops by building bridges and recovering bodies; being entertained by an Italian family and staying in contact with them for over 60 years; at Lake Garda when the war ended; after the war completing his education to become an Episcopal Minister

- Webster Barnett was born in Red Wing, Minn. on November 7, 1923 and enilsted in the Army at Milwaukee, Wisc. on January 14, 1943. At the time of his enlistment he was unmarried, and had completed one year of college. Barnett joined the 10th Mountain Division at Camp Hale, Colo. where he was assigned to Company C and Headquarters Company of the 1st Battalion, 86th Infantry Regiment. He also served at Camp Swift, Tex. and in Italy. During combat operations in Italy, Barnett was awarded the Bronze Star medal for his actions in the Apennine Mountains and the Po Valley in Spring 1945. He attained the rank of Sergeant and also received the Combat Infantryman's Badge, Mediterranean Ribbon with 3 battle stars, Victor medal, Army of Occupation and Good Conduct medals. Barnett became an Episcopal Minister and the National Chaplain for the 10th Mountain Division Associations. He died on November 30, 2010 in Bainbridge, Wash.
